Questions before you book?

Not sure if we're the right fit? We're happy to chat about availability, your pet's routine, or anything that might make our stay a little different.

Messages are answered within one business day, usually the same evening.

Common questions

Do we meet before the first booking?

Always. Every new client gets a complimentary half-hour meet-and-greet at their home before the first visit. We walk through the property together and note the things a sitter needs to know: your routines, how your pets like their day, your vet and emergency contacts, and anything particular about the house. It means whoever looks after your home arrives already knowing it, rather than asking you from the doorstep.

Entry codes, alarm codes and WiFi passwords are the exception. They are never stored on this website, and there is nowhere in our database to put them. We take them in person at the meet-and-greet and they stay out of the system entirely, so a breach of this site could not give anyone access to your home.

Which pets count as "healthy"?

A healthy pet is one on no medication, with no mobility or behavioural problems and no recovery care in progress.

Every pet has their own routine and level of care. Our base rates are designed for pets with everyday care needs, while medication, senior monitoring, mobility support, behavioural needs, or recovery care may require a little extra time and attention. In those cases, we'll simply discuss what's needed and provide a small additional daily or nightly fee.

Why do the first two levels of monthly + pet care only include cats?

At three or four visits a week, a package suits a cat but not a dog. A dog needs company, exercise and a garden break every day, so a few visits a week does not work. For dogs, the daily package, daily pet visits or an overnight stay are the right fit.

Frequency matters for cats too. Most cat-care guidance puts the limit at 24 to 48 hours between visits, which is why our cat packages start at three visits a week rather than one or two. A feeder can handle meals, but litter still needs attention, and a cat that stops eating or becomes unwell should be found that day rather than three days later.

How far do you travel?

All of West Vancouver carries no travel fee, from Sunset Marina in the west to the British Properties and Cedarvale in the east. Capilano North, Capilano South, Pemberton and Norgate add $5 per visit. Coal Harbour and the West End add $10 per visit, plus parking if it isn't provided.

What happens in a storm or power outage?

When a big storm rolls through, existing clients can count on us to check in on their home for a $30 storm-response fee. We'll make sure everything is secure and let you know if anything needs attention before taking care of anything beyond the basics. If an unexpected visit is needed outside of a scheduled booking, urgent visits are $75.

Payment and deposits

Once your booking is confirmed, a 50% deposit secures your dates, with the balance due on the day your booking starts.

If your booking starts within 48 hours of being made, it is payable in full instead. That is the window in which a deposit could not be refunded, so there is nothing to hold back for later.

Because your dates are held just for you, a deposit is not refunded if you cancel within 48 hours of the start. Cancel earlier than that and it comes back in full.

Payment is easy. We accept Interac e-Transfer, with card payment coming soon.

How does signing in to the member area work?

No password to choose or remember. Enter the email you booked with and we'll send you a sign-in link. Click it and you're in.

You'll stay signed in on that device, even if you close your browser or come back weeks later. You'll only need a new link if you use a different device or browser, sign out, or clear your browsing data.

Your sign-in link expires after 60 minutes and can only be used once. If it's expired, just request a fresh one.

Since the link is what keeps your account secure, please keep it to yourself.

Do you take more than one client at a time?

Not overnight. Once your sitter has an overnight booked, their evening is yours from 7pm, with no second stay squeezed in alongside it. We're a small team, so another sitter may be with another client that same night, but nobody ever splits an evening between two homes.

Daytime check-ins work differently, since those are short scheduled visits rather than a whole evening.
